Best Goalkeeper of the tournament Jojo Camba's diving save made the day for the Cherifer Men. The Cherifer Men topped the eliminations with unblemished record before winning over Nasugbu FC 2 - 0 at the semis. Roberto Cursame bagged the MVP award while Charles Gamutan got the best striker medal. The best defender went to Cymun Sanquillos as the Cherifer Men sweep the awards. Earlier Cherifer Boys won the Born 98 category in Day 1 of the 2 day 7-A-Side Football Tournament organized by Cavite Football Association. It was Arellano Chiefs 3rd straight Habagat Cup Born '98 Championships.

Alabang Country Club, Muntinlupa City – With what could be the glimpse of the future of the Philippine Football, Mabuhay Champions League ended its maiden season with big success as the Championship Games for Men’s Open, Under 17, and U15 Categories were held simultaneously at Alabang Country Club Football Field yesterday July 25, 2015. Founder and Chairman of the Mabuhay Football League Mr. Marbon Gonzales can’t hide his satisfaction with the response and participation of all the members of Mabuhay Football League witnessing the historic event and looks forward to a bigger 2nd leg of the Mabuhay Champions League set for kick-off this end of August 2015.
It was a double victory for Team Cherifer as early in the series, Arellano University Chiefs destroyed MSU Ceres FC with a masterful 6 – 2 victory towards an aggregate score of 13 - 2 to hoist the Champions Trophy for U17 category. Just a few minutes after the referee whistled to start the game, striker Park Joobin set up a strong straight ball at the center of the box to start the onslaught. The Chiefs never look back with midfielder Ronnel Gadia contributing 2 goals while defender Patrick Bernarte, Winger MJ Canicosa and Midfielder Neil Linnam had one each to surprise the powerhouse MSU Ceres FC.
In the main event, Flame United Cherifer FC - GTI followed their baby brother Arellano University Cheifs with a hard earned 2-2 draw with tough Uno Filipino FC to lift the big championship trophy for Men’s Open. With the Uno Filipino needing 3 points to snatch the title from Cherifer’s Advantage, the Cherifer Men did not backed down with their defense to hold the Uno Filipino Strikers from their non-stop attack. With an aggregate score of 7 – 5 from their 2 game home and away championship series, Cherifer Men claimed the inaugural Champions for the maiden season of the Mabuhay Champions League.
It was a tough match for the two teams as they started with their guns blazing as both team had their relentless attacks with each other only to overshoot or be foiled by their goal keepers. It was Uno Filipino FC who were busier in the first half but GK Camba foiled every attempt they had to end the first half without a goal for both teams but had several injury timeouts and yellow cards due to the physicality of the game. The second half was a seesaw battle for the two team until Uno defender caught the ball in his hand in the 60th minute that awarded Flame United Cherifer FC - GTI a penalty kick. Defender Cymun Sanquillos calmly converted the penalty kick at the lower right corner to give the Cherifer men the advantage. Trailing by a goal and chances to snatch the championship becoming slim, Uno Filipino FC became more aggressive and had strong attacks on the 61st, 62nd, and 63rd, , 67th and 70th minutes but all of them were saved by GK Jojo Camba. Finally, Uno Striker slipped past Flame Defenders and scored a goal on the 74th minute to even the score at 1 -1. Another attempt by Uno striker on the 77th minute that hit the bar and was recovered by striker Corsame and dribbled the ball on a breakaway to convert a goal on the 80th minute to give Cherifer Men 1 goal advantage on the 80th minute. On the counter attack by Uno Filipino FC, Uno striker slips past 3 Flame defenders to score a goal that even again at 2 – 2 on the 81st minute. The game was so intense with both team resulting to fouls. The referee whistled end of the game just before the dark clouds covered the area and starts to rain where the game ended in a draw at 2 -2 where the Flame United Cherifer FC earning a 7 – 5 aggregate score to write MFL’s Mabuhay Champions League History as inaugural champion and MFL had shown the football world that the new professional developmental league has arrived and will roar its way to a much better and competitive professional league.
Cherifer Men and Boys also dominated the rain drained awards night at the grand stand of the Alabang Country Club. For Arellano Boys, the U17 awardees were led by Season MVP and Most Goals scored striker Raf Belamino, Finals Best Player Ace Roldan, Best Goalkeeper Rafael Gadong, and Best Defender Patrick Bernarte. On the Men’s Side, Striker Roberto Corsame was awarded the finals Best Player and the Most Valuable Player of the Season. He also got the award with most goals of the tournament. Defender Cymun Sanquillos took home the Seasons Best Defender as well as the Finals Best Defender. Veteran Goalkeeper Perry Camba Jr. bagged the Seasons Best Goalkeeper including the Finals Best Goalkeeper. He also earned five match Best Goalkeeper on his way to seasons award. Mario Titoy also took home special award as most promising player. Fellowship night followed after the awarding ceremony. With the success of the 1st Leg of the MFL.PH’s Mabuhay Champions League, Chairman and Founder Mr. Marbon Gonzales and the rest of the members of the Mabuhay Football League is looking forward to a bigger season on the 2nd Leg. More teams have signified their intentions to join the League.
AU CHIEFS DOMINATES! SNATCHED GAME 1 OF U17 MFL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WITH 6 - 0 BEATING OF MSU CERES FC
Alabang Country Club, Muntinlupa City - It will be a tough championship series for MSU Ceres FC as they bowed to smaller but quicker Arellano University Chiefs 0 - 6 of the game 1 of Under-17 MFL Champions League. It was a high scoring game for the Cherifer Boys led by striker Raf Brian Belarmino with his very own hat trick. Despite the high octane scoring of the Chiefs, they did not loosen with their defense as they kept Ceres FC scoreless the whole game. Patrick Bernarte, adjudged Best Player of the Game posted a goal while Rhoniel Gadia and Miguel Bacaron had a goal each to finish off Ceres FC and put them in a deep hole of the championship series. Special Award was given to Striker Belarmino for his hat trick while Lowell Kiyawan came up as the Best Goal Keeper of the match. It was a double victory for Team Cherifer as the baby brothers followed the Men's team in their earlier game 1 victory of their own series.

Alabang Country Club, Muntinlupa City - With the Championship fever up in the air, the top 2 teams will faceoff to claim as the best team of the 2015 MFL Champions League Leg 1 at Alabang Country Club Football Field, Muntinlupa City today June 14, 2015. Flame United Cherifer FC - GTI will come at the Championship round as the underdog against powerhouse Uno Filipino FC being the tormentor at the eliminations and gaining the advantage of the home and away format of the Mabuhay Champions League finals format. Uno Filipino FC proved to be no fluke as the no.1 team of the eliminations by earning a goal just in the 5th minute of the game. But the Cavite based football club wouldnt back down as they equalized the score with striker Corsame evading Uno defenders at the 25th minute. There was an exchange of goals as the game progressed between FUCFC and UFFC but Uno striker scaped with a goal before the final buzzer to end the first half with Uno Filipino having the edge 3 - 2. Coach Ravelo Saluria made adjustment at the half and planned for a greater defensive play. Tha play paid off as the Cherifer Men made important stops and kept striker Corsame off from defenders radar to score 3 more goals while shelacking UFFC scoreless in the 2nd half.. the game ended with team cherifer gaining the homecourt advantage 5 - 3 and it was an inspirational win for the Cherifer Men offering the win to Coach Min of partner FCGTI who just joined the creator before the start of the semifinals. Cherifer Men lost to Corinthians FC 2-0 in the semi-finals and has to eke out a close 6-5 victory against La Cucaracha FC to earn the 2nd Runner Up trophy. In the under 17 boys category, Cherifer Boys barge to the finals but lost a hairline to Tuloy sa Don Bosco FC 3-2 to end the tournament at 1st Runner Up. 1st Tourism Cup is organized by Mabuhay Football League and is the first of its kind making football a tourism spectacle in the country. Alabang Country Club Football Field, Alabang, Muntinlupa City - Flame United Cherifer FC - GTI continued it winning ways in its second game at Mabuhay Champions League Mens Open with hard fought victory over La Cucaracha Football Club 2-1 last May 16, 2015. The Cherifer men started with their guns blazing as winger James Ayuban scored a curling penalty kick off a hard foul from LCFC defender on the 8th minute of the game. With several defensive plays from FUCFCGTI, La Cucaracha was awarded with a corner that deflected in the Cherifer defense that tied the game with an own-goal after 16 minutes of play. It was a seesaw battle but just before the 1st half ends, midfielder Ronald Espinosa was awarded with a penalty kick where he cooly scored a goal to regain the lead as the 1st half ends. The second half was another seesaw battle where the two teams failed to convert several attacks and ended with cherifer men winning a hard fougth game. Ronald Espinosa was awarded the best player and angelo guengon the best defender.GK Jojo Camba got his second best gk of the game. Alabang Country Club, Muntinlupa City – Playing under the scorching heat of the sun, Flame United Cherifer – FCGTI crushed Perpetual Altas FC 7 – 0 to open the tournament for Cherifer Men with an overpowering win at 2015 Mabuhay Champions League, May 9, 2015. Just at 9th minute, Midfielder Billy Shin attacked the center and connected a goal to start the scoring avalanche of the Cherifer Men. It was followed by winger Angelo Guengon with a strike coming from the right side to make it 2 – 0 on the 24th minute. Altas Men tried in vain to attack but Defender Cymun Sanquillos was too good that its hard for the Altas to penetrate. On the 36th Minute, Altas scaped the vaunted defense but a great save by GK Jojo Camba foiled their attack. The End of first half saw the Cherifer Men leading at 2 – 0. With the heat of the sun seems to increase each minute, Altas tried to capitalize it and tried to attack with a breakaway, but the strike was again foiled by GK Jojo Camba on the 47th minute. By this point, Cherifer Men regrouped and at 49th Minute Forward James Ayuban made a great assist to striker Roberto Corsame Jr. and scored another goal to make it 3 – 0. Several substitution were made to preserve the energy of the players, and with fresh new legs, Forward Mario Titoy steals the ball from Altas Goal Keeper and converted the goal smoothly to hike the lead to an unreachable 4 – 0 score at the 62nd minute. Another attempt by Mario Titoy increased the lead at 5 – 0 on the 68th minute. Altas defense collapsed and with their frustration, Altas defender elbowed Roberto Corsame and earn him a red card. By this time, Altas is now undermanned, and with this, Cherifer Men capitalized the loss of their defender and keeps attacking Altas interior defense. Roberto Corsame again scored a goal on the 72nd Minute and Chris Pino scaped with a goal on the 81st minute to end the game with a 7 – 0 dominating win against Perpetual Altas FC. Roberto Corsame Jr. was adjudged the Best Player of the Game while GK Jojo Camba was declared the Best Goalkeeper of the Game and Jun Cymun Sanquillos being the Best Defender of the Games. UPHR-Molino, Bacoor City, Cavite - In preparation to the maiden season of Mabuhay Football League (MFL), Flame United Cherifer FC (FUCFC) management conducted a series of exploratory talks with General Trias International FC on a possible partnership to strengthen the line-up to make the team competitive and have a strong chance to go for the title. After a series of talks, the two teams finally agreed on a mutually beneficial partnership for Mabuhay Football League and other tournaments. General Trias International FC (FCGTI) is also a member of Cavite Football Association just like Flame United Cherifer FC. General Trias International FC is an all-Korean football club campaigning at United Football League (UFL) under their partnership with Philippine Army. With the UFL's season 2nd half winding down, FCGTI has turn its sight on the newly launched professional development league Mabuhay Football League. MFL had its grand opening last April 11, 2015 aT Alabang Country Club Football Field, Ayala Alabang Village, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. MFL is a league promoted and supported by Department of Tourism.
TEAM CHERIFER DOMINATED 9TH CAFA CUP, LADIES TEAM LAUNCHED WITH A BANG
UPHR-Molino, Bacoor City, Cavite - Flame United Cherifer FC launched its Ladies Team with a bang as the newly formed lady cherifer team topped the double round to bag the championship against the more experienced University of Perpetual Help Ladies team and Statefield International School Ladies Team. Cherifer Boys on the other hand climbed harder on the elimination round ranking fourth before winning its semifinal game and eventually winning a cliff hanger 3 - 2 via penalty round in the championship game against Immaculate Concepcion Academy Brigadiers in the Born 98 category. It was a vindication of sort for the Cherifer Men against their performance in last years edition when they topped the eliminations and winning against last years tormentor Saint Dominic Academy via penalty 3 - 2 in the semis and winning the championship against another tormentor in earlier CAFA tournament Lakay FC 3 - 2. It was also a remarkable performance of Goal Keeper Jojo Camba as he was able to save 2 crucial penalty shots at the ladder. The 9th CAFA Cup was held at UPHR Molino Campus, Bacoor City, Cavite on April 11 - 12, 2014.

The Cherifer Men topped the group B with wins over Raha FC (3-0), Altas FC (1-0), Naija FC (won by default), Mamatid FC (2-0), and Riva FC (1 - 0). At the crossover semifinals, the Cavite based football club continued to dominate the tournament with a masterful 2 - 1 victory against the strong Uno Filipino FC B. At the Championship Round, the Cherifer Men has to rely on the skill of veteran goal keeper and eventual best goal keeper awardee Jojo Camba to win at the penalties 6 - 5 over Uno Filipino A FC. Midfielder Ronald Espinosa was adjudged the Most Valuable Player and Coach Ravelo Saluria got the Best Coach Award. It was a photo copy ride for the U16 Arellano Chiefs where the Cherifer Boys topped the eliminations at their group with wins against Atletico Diliman (2-0), Perpetual FC (2-0), FC Forza (4-0) and defeated Green Baron at the semis (1-0). the same story at the Finals where it went through the tie breaker but had a different ending as they end up losing to Singapore School Manila (5 - 6). Marikina City - Flame United Cherifer FC was invited by Congresman Al Lopez to play a friendly game against Korean Collegiate Champion Suseong College last February 8, 2015 at Marikina Sports Complex. The said friendly match was brought here in the Philippines through the joint effort of Congresman Lopez and Dr. Park Sedong of Korea. Early in the first half, the Cherifer boys had almost a chance to earn a goal with Midfielder Jumar Dexisne earning a penalty kick from a dangerous foul but the ball went straight to the Korean Goalkeeper. on the 74th minute, Suseong striker was able to break away and scored a goal to seal the game.

Gatorade Chelsea FC Blue Pitch, The Circuit, Makati City - Flame United Cherifer FC ended their 2014 campaign with a bang by placing 3rd Runner-up at 1st Komrads Cup held at Blue Pitch in Makati City last sunday, December 21, 2014. The tough tournament which was hosted by Komrads FC came in with 24 strong teams. Once again bracketed in group of death, this time, the Cherifer Men was able to qualify in the quarters by winning over the eventual champion Indian FC, Hanover FC, and Bulacan FC before losing to Kabuscorp FC and a tie with United Korean FC. The Cavite based club marched to the semis with a thrilling win against Superbad FC (2 -1) but lost another down the wire game (0-1) to Ala buelo FC. Flame United Cherifer FC ended up 3rd Runner -up losing to F4FC in the battle for third place.
CHERIFER MEN EARNED 1ST RUNNER UP IN 1ST AMIHAN CUP
UPHR-Molino, Bacoor City, Cavite - Flame United Cherifer FC topped the elimination round but lost the championship match on a 3-2 shoot out. The Cherifer Men Came in strong with 4 victories and a tie to finish the elimination round of the CAFA's 1st Amihan Cup held last November 23, 2014 at the top. In the cross over semi-finals, the Cherifer men had a scare against the ALTAS FC with the host team earning a goal early before the Flame United strikers scored two straight goals and advance to the championship round. Meanwhile, Riding on a shoot out victory against Cheng Hua, St. Dominic College of Asia were in high spirits and earned another shooutout 3-2 victory against Flame United which is their tormentor in the elimination round to hoist the championship trophy. The 1st runner up finish is a good start for the Flame United Cherifer FC who paraded with new players.

ASCOM, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City - Flame United Cherifer FC Mens Team participated in the 1st Mabuhay 8-A-Side Football Tournament last October 19, 2014. The tournament was hosted by Uno Filipino Football Club founded by the tournament organizer Mr. Marbon Gonzales. Bracketed in Group B, the Cherifer Men had an erratic first 2 games as they lost to Hijos FC and Masbate FC 0-1 on both games and eventually won over Sipaan Kan FC and Corinthians FC with both wins had a score of 2 - 0. The last game was against the mostly african reinforced Kabuscorp de Laguna FC where the Cherifer men stood tall and earned a tie 0-0. The Cherifer Men ended the tournament third in Group B with 2 wins 1 draw 2 losses that eventually costed them the trip to the semifinals.
1st Smart Futsal Inivitational Cup: Cherifer Men in Group of Death, Finished joint third and Missed trip to Quarters
Mandaluyong City - The 1st Smart Futsal Invitational Cup held in Gold's Gym Sheridan, Mandaluyong City Group C was held last October 5, 2014. Flame United Cherifer FC finished joint third with Team Socceroo and failed to advance to the quaterfinals. Cherifer Men fought gallantly against Green Archers United Globe FC but the Chieffy Caligdong led squad proved to be more aggressive and gave the Cavite based club their first loss, 1 - 4. The lone goal was contributed by striker Abdou Moussa in an early equalizer. With numerous attemps, GK Jojo Camba prove to be too classy as he was able to save plenty clear attempts but still was able to gave up only 4 goals. Learning from the mistakes in game 1, the Cherifer men held their ground against a very organized Team Socceroo and led in the half time, but the game was marred by ugly physicality where the younger Flame Team was able to give up goals and ended the game in a draw, 3 -3. Chris Pino once again prove that not only he is good at defense but excel with his excellent offense as he was able to do a hat trick.The third game was against Army Team carrying the Uno Filipino FC flag. The strong Army - Uno Filipino Team wasn't able to stop Cherifer Men with 2 goals from both halves against their lone goal. Striker Roberto Corsame and defender Kaizer Orcine kicked in 1 goal each for the victory. The game earned the Cherifer Men their first win, 2 - 1. With qualifying for quarters on the line. Cherifer Men did everything they could in their fourth game against the no.1 team in the group, Mozzaico Futsal Club, a team composed of Iranian players and was one time reinforced by the popular model actor Daniel Matzunaga. It was a very tough physical game with GK Mark Ian Baldo getting the beating with their attempts but he showed why he is one of the best by just giving up 1 goal. Mozzaico FC was also surprised with the aggressive play of Flame United, but the Flaming Cherifer Men came up short and lost to the Superior team, 0 -1. The Flame United Cherifer FC ended with 1 win 1 draw 2 loss for a joint third place with Team Socceroo FC with Mozzaico as No.1 and Green Archers Utd as No.2.

UPHR-Molino, Bacoor City, Cavite - With strong rainfall similar to the 1st edition of the Cavite Cup, the tournament pushed through with the request of all the teams who came in for the tournament last September 14, 2014. Flame United Cherifer FC (FUCFC) defended its crown against a strong field of teams. FUCFC finished with 12 points with 3 wins 3 draws and 0 loss to make it a clean slate at the end of the games, the 12 points is more than enough to retain the championship for the 2nd year in a row. Meanwhile, Bacoor United Soccer Squad (BUSS) and Raha FC (RFC) finished with identical 7 points and has to go to a tie brake to determine the 2nd and 3rd Place. BUSS slight edge over RFC with +1 goal difference against RFC's 0 put then in 2nd place while RFC snatched the 3rd Place. Altas FC meanwhile ended the tournament at 4th Place.

Immaculate Conception Academy came in 1st Runner up while University of Perpetual Las Piñas took the 2nd runner up. Chief striker Bryan Tayag was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Meanwhile, their elder brothers Cherifer Men were not as lucky as the Flame United Cherifer Men lost their quarterfinal match agains the Altas FC via a penalty shoot-out 1-2. It was a heartbreaking loss for the Cherifer Men as they topped their group unscathed and in clean sheet moving up to the quarterfinals.

The Chrifer Boys etched another mark in the tournament history as the first CAFA team to do a 3-peat. On the first day of the tournament, FUCFC strikers struck down Chiefs FC with a 4 -2 victory. The following day, The Cherifer XI proved to be too hot to handle as they drowned the PCU Cheng Hua Dolphins FC with a no mercy 4 - 0 trouncing of the host club. On the final day, Perpetual FC did not show up due to transportation problem and virtually hand the crown to Flame United Cherifer FC. This is the third consecutive provincial qualifier crown for the Dasmarinas City based football club and earn the right to represent the Province of Cavite through Cavite Football Association to the Regional Qualifier. Chris Pino was awarded the tournament MVP and Golden Boot, Best Goalkeeper goes to Jojo Camba, and the Kaizer Orcine was declared the Best Defender of the tournament. Meanwhile, Former FUCFC striker June Mojado who is currently with the PCU Cheng Hua Dolphins FC was adjudged the best striker while his team mate Alocius Mbachu was awarded the Best Midfielder. PCU Cheng Hua Dolphins FC came in First Runner-Up, Chiefs FC 2nd Runner-Up while Perpetual FC came in as 3rd Runner-Up.
CHERIFER MEN FIRST RUNNER-UP AT 8TH CAFA CUP
UPHR-Molino, Bacoor City, Cavite - Flame United Cherifer FC finished first runner-up on the 8th CAFA Cup held last March 16, 2014. The Cherifer Boys entered the semis by topping the group B elimination round which saw the defending Champion UPHR-Las Pinas getting knocked-out by the eventual Champion Lakay FC. FUCFC made it to the finalS with a 3-2 win over United Circle FC in a shoot-out. The Finals saw a much tougher game with Lakay FC and the Cherifer Boys fighting it out for a goal until the final 2 minutes where Lakay FC's Jerome Cuyos sneak in a goal to win the game 1 - 0.

CAVITE FA's FLAME UNITED CHERIFER FC ENDS NATIONAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP RUN IN SEMIS, MADE PFF HISTORY
Panaad Stadium, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental – Cavite Football Association’s (CAFA) representative to 2013 PFF Smart National Men’s Club Championship Flame United Cherifer FC end its championship hope with a double semifinal loss to heavy favorite Leyte FA's Global FC. 0-4 and 0-5.
The journey to the top was challenging for the Cavite based football club from the very start. With inferior financial and logistical strength, the Cherifer boys had to ride and endure a 36 hour bus (RORO) ride from Cavite to Bago City encountering natural and man made disasters along the way. With all those physical challenges and little rest, they immediately let their presence felt at the start of the Group B National Eliminations with a no mercy win over its Bicolano Counterpart routing Naga Cam Sur FA's CBSUAFC 7 - 0. The next game feats the Cherifer Boys against the host and defending Champion Ceres FC where the upset conscious Flame Strikers made a galant stand before losing 0 - 3. The third game is a must win game for Team CAFA to advance to the next round. Cherifer Boys had a rough start as Bukidbon FA's Del Monte FC scored a goal in the first half. But the Flame United Strikers regrouped and made a double in the second half to eventually advance to the semifinal round and arrange a showdown against the powerful Global FC and end the National Club Championship run making it in the PFF history as the first probationary member to enter the final four. The National Finals was held on December 8 - 22, 2014.
CAFA’S FLAME UNITED CHERIFER FC CHAMPS AT REGIONAL STAGE QUALIFYING ROUND OF PFF SMART NATIONAL MEN’S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
Montalban, Rizal – Cavite Football Association’s (CAFA) representative to 2013 PFF Smart National Men’s Club Championship Flame United Cherifer FC defeated its arch-nemesis San Beda FC of Football Association of Rizal (FAR), 2 – 1, last October 5, 2013 at San Jose Elementary School Football Field, Montalban Rizal. The supposedly four (4) team qualifying stage was reduced to two (2) teams when National Capital Region and Olongapo – Zambales Football Association failed to send teams to the above mentioned annual national men’s club tournament.
Flame United Cherifer FC came in strong in the first half with several clean tries but San Beda FC’s aggressive defense repulse every attempt of the Cavite based football club which ended the first half tied at nil. The start of the second half saw a much faster San Beda FC and in the next 30 seconds San Beda eluded three (3) Cavite defenders and eventually scored over Goal Keeper Perry Camba, Jr. that put the whole Team Rizal celebrating the goal. Cherifer boys did not lose their composure and controlled the game in the next 6 minutes of the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match, Cherifer attacking midfielder no.7 Jeon Shin Sheok manage to sneak the ball after a scramble to goal and even the score at 1 – 1. With the new found strength, Flame United Cherifer FC eleven continue attacking the vaunted defense of the San Beda FC and on the 54th minute, the Rizal based strikers were penalized inside penalty area where Forward No. 19 Song Woo calmly kicked a banana type free kick to put the Flame United Cherifer FC ahead at 2 -1.
The next 30 minutes saw a very physical San Beda FC attack but always end up frustrated as Defender No.18 Chris Pino emposes his will to protect the goal. On the 89th minute, Cavite bench were almost emptied when its no. 19 striker Song Woo was pushed by San Beda defender but cooler heads prevailed and continued the game.
The game ended 2 – 1 in favor of CAFA’s Flame United Cherifer FC. The victory earned the Cavite based Flame United Cherifer FC to advance to the Final Qualifying Rounds where the champions of each group will be divided into two groups of five teams. The top two teams of the two groups will then clash in a home and away semi-finals to forge its way up to the finals.
FLAME UNITED CHERIFER FC MADE HISTORY | FIRST EVER CHAMPION OF CAVITE CUP MEN'S OPEN 9-A-SIDE FESTIVAL.
UPHR, Molino, Bacoor, Cavite - Flame United Cherifer FC survived the typhoon filled 1st Cavite Cup as it defeated Powerhouse General Trias International FC and Philippine Christian University - Dasmarinas in the double round robin 9-a-side football festival and was declared the inaugural champion of the said football competition hosted by University of Perpetual Help Dalta System-Molino Campus on September 22, 2013. There were at least eleven team who confirmed to participate but because of the heavy rains, only three arrived for the game. With the approval of all the teams who were present, the tournament was not cancelled. Alvin Obero was awarded the Most Valuable Player of the tournament, Chris Pino snatched the Best Striker while GK Jojo Camba was adjudged the Best Goal Keeper.
CHERIFER MEN STRIKES, 1ST RUNNER UP AT 2013 POC-PSC PHILIPPINE NATIONAL GAMES.
Brent Gym, ULTRA, Pasig City – Cavite Football Association Men’s Futsal Team represented by Flame United Cherifer Football Club finished strong 1st Runner-up behind the eventual champion National Capital Region Pasargad FC last June 1, 2013,. The championship game was marred by heated physical and verbal exchanges and was down the wire until the last ten minutes when the Team CAFA succumbed to over fatigue due to tight scheduling of games. Team CAFA almost evened the score in the first 10 minutes of the second half at 6 – 7 but Pasargad FC capitalized the small error made by Team CAFA to eventually rally and grab the Gold to end the championship game at 11 -7. Two players from CAFA made it to the mythical five namely Kaizer Orcine and Abdou Moussa Obono who earned the Golden Boot Award despite missing one game.
